: Great looking boat Clayton. Greg is one lucky guy !

: What does it weigh and what variety of woods are you using.

: Also how the stripper performs vs your SOF version. I like
: paddling my little no fiberglass Sea Bee stripper when the winds
: are high.

Hi Tom, Thanks,

The weight came in at 31.2 lbs. The wood is Cedar in the hull and the outer edges of the deck, the accent strips are Maple and the deck is Redwood. I found some Redwood fence planks and they made good looking strips. The rub rail is Cypress with oak pegs. I used the 3.2 oz glass with a second layer on the hull bottom. No bulkheads or hatches and a stacked plywood coaming.

The performance was much better than I expected. Plenty fast for a rec. kayak of 13'. Stability was enough that Greg felt very confident from the first launch. In fact he liked to paddle with his knees up. I paddled it only for a few minutes but it felt more responsive to paddle strokes that my SOF version. Easy to turn around but it tracks straight even when you stop paddling and just coast. The performance will please anyone looking for an all round good rec. kayak. My compliments to the designer.
