I must admit I have always used scarf joints for solid wood, and since my first boat I also scarf ply. Not as hard as I feared . . .

On solid wood it is easy to get a perfect scarf joint that is virtually invisible. Most of the joints on the brightwork on my own builds cannot be seen without a magnifying glass, but my ply scarf joints aren't that good yet . . .
