: Hi Les,
: I'm slightly isolated but have muddled through. Also, not on the
: "west coast"so can't exhibit.I am primerily a
: paddler,with building tendancies.Please consider something
: completely different to the Guillemots, a Baidarka from Laughing
: Loon.I made a deliberate choice to make this boat first er and
: second for a specific purpose of sea passage making.Well, fairly
: long trips up to 50 km loaded up ,going more or less in a
: stright line, come what may.Firestar does this exceptionally well
: and is also very sea worthy. Not much seems to phase mine. They
: are easy [fast]to paddle in challenging conditions.
: I am now building at ,what I think is , the opposite end of the
: spectrum. A boat to play in.A guilimott derivitive.I have
: deliberately made a choice to go to the extremes of design
: concepts, hopefully, to extract the benifits of each when the
: occasion arises.I am hoping the Petrel will allow me to learn
: how to play in the rough stuff, rather than to "just"
: coping with it.
: My couple of pennies worth from Paul NZ.

Hi Paul.

Thanks for your two penniworth. I think you could be right about the two ends of the spectrum.
I guess that the Guillemot sits somewhere in the middle. So which way to go?!! I guess time will tell.
Regards Les. C.
