Btw, the idea is to keep the glass/Dacron thin, this is a very flexible material and if you add extra cloth you create a hard spot that can cause a stress riser at the join between the stiffer fabric and the flexible skin which can cause a failure. Flexing is good.

You can though add a strip of extra material, glass etc., at the stems and keel since there is a hard spot there anyway, wood under the fabric.
