Hello, I am looking for someone who would be willing to share some kayak plans for a school project. In high school I had the great pleasure of working with Hornbeck Boats of Olmsteadville NY. Pete Hornbeck is a great guy and a great boat builder. He came to our school and taught us how to make a fiberglass kayak from a mold that he gave to the school. So for years now the school puts out kayaks that the students make and take home at the end of the year. I have sinced moved away from that area and I am looking to take what I learned way back then to my daughters school and teach them how to build these boats just like I was taught. Sort of pay it forward. My problem is that I need a kayak plan which I can build and then make into a mold so I can reproduce for the students. So far I have struck out and I have not been able to find plans that I can easily follow (remember it has been some years since I have done this) or a mold someone would be willing to let go of for a great cause. I want to learn how to make my own boat mold and maybe get involved in the boat building community but just need some help to get this ball rolling. The school is located in Rockledge FL, St Mary's Catholic School. I look forward to hearing something from this community of builders.
