: I put epoxy tinted with graphite on the bottom of my two S&G kayaks
: for a tough bottom. The epoxy/graphite mix was less than 10% (by
: volume) graphite (the instructions had 2 teaspoons of graphite
: with 3 pump strokes of resin and hardener using the West Systems

Having a black kayak is not a concern where I live - the hoteest we'll get in the summer is around 24 celsius. Summer (from July to Sept) average would be very low 20's. Salt water temp does not get above 13 celsius either. I paddle all year, so for the most part I'll need the black to retain some heat!!
