Strip: Petrel pre-build research

i am planning my petrel strip build and would like some advice on layups and various cloth options, or other considerations with a particular focus on keeping the total build as light as reasonable.

i noticed Nick recently sold a completed petrel on his site with a stated weight of 33lbs which would be a fine target.

as i get older, keeping it light, i am finding, is something that is keeping me in the sport....

i am not particularly hard on boats....so while i am not trying to have anything come apart on me, i think i would be fine with a 'light' build. i am interested in how e, s or carbon of carbon kevlar and kevlar tape can be used in the best places to achieve the best weight, good looks, etc. i was also a bit confused between total weights (epoxy plus cloth) and how some applications, while using lighter cloth need more more resin unless vacuum bagged (which is out of my league). any suggestions on particular layup schedule and specific fabric and weights recommendation would be appreciated. if there is any other construction point that folks think are critical to weight....am interested in hearing that as well. i have my strong-back all set up so will be starting soon.
