Four years after we secured our build of a Sea Bee 13 (we restarted the day after the 4 year anniversary of the last work) we have restarted and are almost done. My son's legs are now one inch from being too long for it but he does still fit (lots of altitude gained between age 12 and 16).

We are skinning it with Dyson's 14oz polyester. Because of time constraints we opted to paint with latex porch and floor. I had heard that you could paint the whole boat in 2 days (do several coats on the hull one day, flip it and do the deck the next day) and then put it in the water in a week. A few days ago I asked my son to read the instructions while I was at work, specifically drying/curing times. He told me he did so when I got home from work I went down and threw a coat on the hull and THEN I read the instructions. Turns out it is 72 hours to walk on it (it is porch paint) and up to 30 days until you can scrub it. I don't want to do either of those but I would like to launch it in a week (he has a Scout canoe trip and we were going to use our kayaks).

Is a week enough cure time on latex porch and floor paint? The brand is Behr and there are three coats below the water line (two coats had lighter spots when looking inside while shining a light outside, three gave a nice even darkness).

Appreciate any help (and we are already planning the next, larger, boat, if we can find someplace bigger to build it)
