I took typing I in high school, but in typing I you had to type on a manual typewriter. On those machines I could only manage about 45 WPM, which was good for a C, I think. We also got marked down if the letters were not equally dark. You didn't get to use the IBM Selectrics until typing II. Nowadays with a computer keyboard and way more practice I top out at about 80 WPM on a good day.
