If you were to only glass one side, I would have thought that he inside would be the most important side to glass. But that pause for thought aside, no, you would need to glass both sides.

Larger boats are often strip built without any glass at all, but the timber is much thicker, and there would be all sorts of reinforcing on the inside as the inner fitting out is installed.
