Greg Stamer (past winner of the Everglades Challenge) uses a sheet of PTFE (teflon) on top of his seat when he needs more rotation. The trouble with an all-around touring-type kayak that's used in all conditions is that when conditions are more challenging, you really need your butt stuck in the seat. Having a sheet of teflon (you can get them from Grainger Industrial Supply) seems like a reasonable and cost-effective solution. I fully plan to give it a try, but to be honest we've had a wet summer and the water has been up in the rivers, so I've spent most of the season in my whitewater kayak.
