looking for recommendations for high performance, good looking design, strip built for my wife.....5' 2" and 105 lbs.

she is advancing past the Chesapeake 14 that i built for her a number of years back.....but hard to find high performance kayak in her size.

interested in ideas as i sort out the next project.

Howard:The Chesapeake 14 (14' x 21" beam looks like a pretty good boat for a smaller paddler.
What do you mean by 'high performance'?
Efficient at cruising (3-4 knot) speeds?
High top speed?
Good for surfing?
Easy to roll?
Good for long distance trips?
Lightweight?
Rugged?
etc...

For a shorter paddler, getting a boat with a low deck -especially at the back of the cockpit -would be my first recommendation.
Also, low wetted area makes the boat easier to paddle, especailly at typical cruising speeds where the waterline length isn't the controlling factor. Being able to 'keep up' with the group makes paddling more fun.
Is she using a high angle paddling style?
What type of paddle?

How challenging do you want the (strip) build to be?
