The end of August, three friends and I were sailing a 28' Beneteau sailboat off Port Colborne, Ontario. All U.S. citizens, we had registered on arrival with Customs the day before. We were boarded by the RCMP's and they wanted to check our passports. The Mountie on board, told us that as long as the guy at the wheel wasn't perceptively drunk, he wasn't going to do anything. He just wanted to check and make sure we weren't carrying firearms, importable amounts of liquor, or illegal drugs. He even made a crack about our single malt scotches being okay with him.
He took his horse and they left.
