This happened a few weeks ago... I'm only now getting around to posting about it. Neighbor of mine went out kayaking with me. She took the wife's 13' Yost Sea Bee, while I took the 17' Yost Sea Rider. It was a nice paddle, but her competitive streak came out and she wanted to race. I was surprised at how quickly she could get that Sea Bee moving. I kept upping the pace a bit more, bit by bit...

'Til I was surprised to hear a bit of cursing behind me. Looked over my shoulder, and she had come to a dead stop in the middle of the river. Turns out she discovered a low spot in the Mohawk River, and managed to cradle the hull between two good sized boulders sticking up from the bottom, just below the surface. We were moving right along good when she hit, too. Brought her to a dead stop. I had to lift up one end of the boat just to get her off of them.

Left a coat of yellow Rustoleum on the edge of the rocks where she hit, but there wasn't any damage at all to the boat itself. Fabric held fine, and even with leaving a bit behind on the rocks, it was pretty hard to tell where the paint had been removed from the hull.

It's got me sold.
