Now, does anyone have great uses for the left overs? I've a large collection of about 1/32 strips.

Break em up into shorter lengths and stick them in a bucket for now. You may find them useful if you end up with a crack that needs filling. After the 'woodwork' part of the boat is finished, they make great kindling.

You didn't ask, but strip cutoffs can be used to lay up panels for bulkheads and skeg boxes if you want. They also make decent stir sticks, and ...kindling. :-)
