How do you dry the surface?
In the groups I paddle with, everyone carries extra dry clothes. These are not repairs "at sea" - usually once we land.
I saw a broken paddle once put back together with duct tape too. Lost hatch cover - when a person arrived to paddle. We coverered the hatch opening with duct tape and at least the person could go paddling.
