Hello,

I am nearing the point of joining deck and hull with my strip-built Petrel Play. The back band I have is the Performance from CLC. It is a bit taller than some bands and comes with four 1" x 34" strap loops integrated into the seat, one on each end and two in the back. Each loop has a large swivel snap hook (think dog leash) which I am inclined to remove.

I realize that there is not really a "wrong way" to tether the seat as long as it stays where it should, but it also occurred to me that the kayak will likely outlive the back band, and I should keep an eye open towards flexibility should I ever install a different style back band.

At the front I'm considering simply cutting slots in the cheek plates to thread the loop through.
In the rear I'm thinking of two pad eyes made wide enough for straps, or regular size pad eyes and a loop of shock cord to attach to the seat straps.

Anything I should consider before taking the above routes?
