Thanks for the excellent advice and information. One of the first boats I thought of when I first begain considering this endeavor was the Kruger canoe. I also believe that a speed I can maintain all day...and night...is far more critical than top speed. The examples cited, plus a few more I found, are very helpful. I had already strongly considered a plumb stern and nearly plumb bow to add waterline length. Now...I have to firm up a beam I can live with...considering all my requirements. Seating with variable positions and height is critical for me. The ravages of age. Nick's advice on priorities is right on target.
