Stability and Drag
In Response To: Revised question ()

Slight correction and more information on the effect of widening but rounding the hull. I didn't notice that Kayakfoundry had just slightly altered my WL length, and when I correct it, the 1" wider but rounded hull has just a bit more drag, but less than 1% more. If I make the rounded hull only a half inch wider than the flat-bottomed hull, it has the same stability, and just slightly less drag. Anyway, the lesson seems to be that you can both widen and round a hull somewhat while preserving the same approximate stability and drag as a flat bottom.
