Ain't what it used to be

I was out in Buzzard's Bay this weekend with typical chop for there. Swell from the ocean in one direction, wind waves from another, and current waves a third (not to mention random boat wakes).

The old pelvis/torso pivot is not as flexible as it used to be. Working to let the boat ride independant of my upper torso showed me I need to lossen up and get flexible.

What are your favorite exercises to free up and strengthen independant movement in the hips and lower back? What other kayaking related exercises do you do?
