Hull and paddle repair

After many surf landings and launchings with a loaded boat, the gelcoat on my keel line and a bad spot under the rear bulkhead had pretty well worn off. Last year, I put a new layer of gelcoat on the wear parts, but it has now worn off as well. So I am now putting on a fiberglass strip on the wear places. When I took a good look at the hull, there is a lot of general wear as well. I am not too worried about the thousands of scratches, but soon the fiberglass will start to show and wear.
Is it possible to get the hull back to new gelcoat condition? I have also heard of an epoxy sealer/titanium surface finish as a possible option. Has anyone tried it?
I also have a paddle with a 1/2 inch tear on the middle of the leading edge. Can this be fixed by soaking epoxy into the crack, or will a fiberlass patch be necessary?
Thanks, Robert
