I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who contributed to the thread on using Greenland/Aleaut paddles. It prompted me to dust off my Aleut paddle and practice some of the techniques discussed. Result? I love it. Surprisingly, the biggest benefit came from having two fingers on the plade instead of using a death grip on the loom. I can now paddle with a very loose grip without losing the paddle orientation and my shoulders ache a lot less than they used to. Water running down the blades doesn't seem to be a problem and I haven't experienced any flutter during hard accelleration. My graphit Euro is now my spare. Thanks again.
