So I'm out paddling, trying to stay straight as possible. I stop paddling and coast. Always, I begin to turn slightly away from my last stroke. Even exagerated leaning the boat does nothing to change the direction.

Mine has rounded chines.
1. Would a hard chined boat be more responsive?
2. Since it doesn't seem to affect my turning, Why can't I lean IN to a turn?
