My wife is in the market for a touring kayak for flat water rivers, bays, and lite off shore kayaking. We are looking at a Hurricane Aqua Sports Tampico. It is 13.5'long x 23.5" wide, wt is 38 lbs made from a new material called Trylon. The boat has no rudder but has a slight keel that runs the length of the boat. We are new to kayaking and are looking for a good handling boat that is easy to load on to a truck top roof rack. We tried an Old Town Castine and found that it handled pretty good on an inland lake with light winds, again as far as we could tell, as we are new to kayaking. Any guidance would be appreciated. Also any good websites that have information for beginers.
