Just a question; a student recently asked me where she could do some good paddling around Victoria BC. I usually recommend folks go with an experienced guide, as that whole Juan de Fuca straight has some tough tide races, heavy tides coming in from both the West and the North. In my opinion, that area is for advanced kayakers, or certainly those who know how tricky the combination of currents can get. I know experienced paddlers who got into some unnerving situations off of Victoria and the S. end of Salt Spring Island.
Any suggestions about who paddlers could contact for a safe trip in that neck o' the woods?
Thanks in advance
