greenland paddle bracing

I'm getting more enthused about making and using greenland paddles. I'm used to a quick slap brace with my wide bladed paddles. Do you ever use a low or high slap brace at all with the greenland paddles or does your bracing always include a sculling motion becase of the narrower blade?

Do you ever feel the need for a wider blade for bracing into waves from the side or in surf landings?

Is there any advantage to a wider blade (4-5 inches) or would that be defeating the whole purpose/design of the greenland paddle?

I always carry a second paddle with a different blade or shaft length, what do you do with greenland paddles?

Has anyone made/used a successful breakdown greenland paddle?

Thanks for your help.

Randy
