Savvy Paddler book

Just wanted to recommend a new book recently published.

"Sea Kayaker's Savvy Paddler: More than 500 tips for better kayaking" by
Doug Alderson

It's a collection of ideas & hints, plus a few anecdotes. Some of the information is old hat to most of us (make sure your PFD fits right, consider decreasing the angle of feather on your paddle if you get wrist problems, etc.) but I suspect almost everyone will find SOMEthing that makes you say "What a great idea! Why didn't I think of that?"

*Lots of information on customizing your boat (deck rigging, underdeck storage, seat/hip fitting, compasses, tow lines, etc.)
*Tips on camping - what to take, what to look for and/or avoid in selecting
campsites, etc.
*Fitness, stretching etc.
*Tying a bowline knot in under a second
*Boat repair
*How to keep your skeg from getting jammed with sand/rocks when launching from a beach
*And lots more.

If naught else you'll probably find some hints that you completely DISagree with, which will provide you with hours of fun discussing the merits and shortcomings of day hatches, yoga, or GPS navigation.

I thought it was $16 well spent.
