Has anyone ever used a product called a Back-up? It is a small plastic cylinder that is mounted on the deck just in front of the cockpit. In the event of a capsize, you pull a cord and a bag much like a paddle float inflates by way of a CO2 cartridge. You grab this bag and right yourself in the same manner as using a partners bow for an assisted rescue. Once up the bag can be left inflated or deflated and put back in the cylinder. A new CO2 cartridge is then attached and it is ready to use again.
I saw them at a kayak shop and was wondering how they work.
Thanks All, Ian
