Had a call from Rob last night. He was at Cumberland House, Saskatchewan. I wasn't home so he left a message. He said travel on the river has been boring for the most part with only a few bits of whitewater action. He has taken lots of wildlife and bird pics with his new Canon Xti. He's had one minor/harmless encounter with a bear (which means Rob couldn't catch him to try out his fancy new bear bangers, or his big knife he's been bragging about for the last 5 years). Said he's been having a great time, has met lots of great people and has lots of stories to tell.
I'm going to hook up with him on June 11th and we'll paddle Hecla/Black Island on the 12th, 13th, 14th. With any luck the new camera I ordered will be here before I leave. Rob seemed pretty excited about how much he was enjoying the photography aspect on this leg of the trip.
Bryan, Joe, there is still time to meet us at Hecla for the 12th!!
I'll pass on updates as I get them.
