I am proposing that a kayak launch place be built on a canal leading into the Wilmington River, which is actually an estuary going into Wassaw Sound, Georgia. There are tide ranges as much as 8 feet and the canal has steep rip-rap banks now. It's a killer to carry the boats down the bank. There is opposition to a floating dock and it is also very narrow at low tide.
Any ideas on constructing a launch?
It's surprising how little information is available to one like myself agitating for the construction of non-motorized canoe/kayak launch places. Yet, various jurisdictions are proposing to have them built.
Please post a message if you've seen a kayak launch in tidal waters that you liked.
Thanks a lot.
