In at the deep end? Should I kayak in Vietnam? *LINK*

Hi all,

I dont know much about Kayaks, I have never been in one although I have used a Canoe before at our local park boating lake.
Although I can swim , Im not the best swimmer . Perhaps I could 10 lenghs at the swimming pool on a good day.

We have booked a holiday to Halong bay in Vietnam ( top gear fans may recognise it ) and it seems safety is not top of priorities there.
below is a link pasted from a recent trip, I also read elsewhere of someone getting sucked into a cave with a narrow opening ( something to do with the tide)
I would appreaciate it if someone could read the link and advise if We should, a) Go and enjoy it , b)Stay on the main boat or C) Read a "Idiots guide to Kayaking book" before I go. Im reasonably fit so dont think the 45 minutes exercise would be an issue.( probably will have a hangover though..and it is hot there)The wife should be ok too.

Many thanks in advance
