I have some at home, but…
I have some at home, but never found it to be all that useful. There's nothing that you can do with dragon skin that you can't do with a Surform tool and sandpaper, both of which are easy to find and cheap. The Surform tool is better for hogging off material than dragon skin (which tends to tear it, in my experience) and sandpaper is better for creating a smooth final surface.
Dragon Skin
I'm hoarding my few packages of Dragon Skin - there is nothing that's as good for hand shaping foam thigh pads, IMO.
It does crack/break fairly easily.
Way to go, corporate world!! Another product that worked really well, so now discontinued.
You might find that some of the MicroPlane tools (for kitchen use) would do the job, or one of the metal tools that's sold to grind bunions and callouses from feet?
Let us know what you find!
wire brush wheel
A non-conventional tool I have use for closed cell shaping is a wire brush wheel. A smaller one about 4 inches in diameter and stiff, works great in the drill to shape closed cell. It does create a mess so best to work outside or just beware. I made a few closed cell seats and its perfect to carve out that rounded shape on the inside.
Holey Galadhad
A few years ago while making several closed cell seats I found the Holey Galahad disks to be very fast and easy control. Like the wire brush mentioned by Jay they make a mess. I use a 4.5" grinder, after roughing remove the wheel and finish by hand. I bought the round medium, if I were doing again probably would get the round fine. They also offer a flat disk that is slightly rounded that may also work. These are expensive but you'll only need to buy once. Amazon has the best price that I found and they have cheaper copies.
