I have also had good luck laser printing a design from my computer onto rice paper. This is great for scanning more complex designs from a book. I use a paper glue stick to spot glue the rice paper onto another piece of laser printer paper so it goes through the printer without jamming.

Just be sure to test it first with the epoxy to make sure your ink is waterproof or it will make a mess. I put the rice paper onto the wood and put the cloth over it, works great. Just don't work it too much or it might smear even if it is waterproof. I have a northwest indian owl and a frog design that I have used. I can post them if anyone is interested.
