Jack, we seem to be at the same place in construction. my first took 9 months and i kept no log but est. 150-200 hours. this time i kept a calander nearby and logged my hours. this one i started on feb 1. i'm on my way out to join two halves together now. much easier to tack tape in place with dabs of hot glue first then join together and wet it out after.

i expect varnishing to slow me down a bit, waiting for it to dry. a trick i did on the first: i hung the kayak from the ceiling thru the hatches using an old wooden broom handle. i did the top then raised the yak and tilted the boat one side and got the bottom slid the dowel to the other side of the hatch and got the other side of the bottom. i did the top first because of runs. this allowed me to varnish the whole boat in one shot.
