I don't know what the west marine guy was talking about. I used Epiphanes over West epoxy on two boats and have been using them for 1 year. So far so good. I had more problems with Brightside over the epoxy especially the primer not drying properly. I called Interlux and they said to use a 2 part epoxy primer instead of the normal Brightside primer (I think they said 414 )
