The design criteria for my boat can be summed up in one word... volume. I am a high volume guy (tall and wide) and I have found it very difficult to be comfortable in most kayaks. I have a few other wooden boats that I have built which are fun for playing in, rolling etc. but on lonk trips I am very uncomfortable in them.

The stern was an experiment, much easier to strip this way and I wasn't sure if I would be adding a rudder so I left an easy escape incase I needed one. (I don't)
