In Response To: Building a folding Greenland Kayak (Archer Grinulf)

Recalling the Alaskan Recovery Kayak by R. Morris in the sea kayaker mag last summer ( see Kelly's recent post) almost derailed my surfkayak interest. The approach described is so simple and accessible that I immediately thought about how compact a folding kayak could get by modifying the approach in the article.

You see everything hangs off the gunwales, so if you solve a strong folding gunwale approach - you get a huge start in making it collapsible.
