Thanks for the quick reply, the person I'd be buying for lives in the middle of nowhere (no paddlesport shops) and I'm not sure he knows what to buy either.. He's had some basic kayak instruction but not much else. Is there a specific item to wear or is it just personal choice? (I tried looking at a zillion photos of ppl on the water but I couldnt really tell what they were wearing.) thanks again, Tracey
