I built the Pygmy Arctic Tern and found that NOT having a shear clamp was nice because the deck did not have to be forced into its shape. Everyone seems to have a slight mis-match -- the deck on mine wound up about 3/4" wider than the hull -- but just a little strapping tape pulls them together nicely. Dean
