I would hazard a guess (and this is just a guess) that higher SG epoxies may be more run-resistant due to their denser nature (which oughta make them thicker [more viscous]). Lower SG epoxies would probably tend to soak into the wood better and wet cloth out faster.

Just my educated guess; Pete Rudie is probably the guy with better answers about this stuff.
