Mike, I don't know if it's an option for you, but my first thought for transporting more than 2 boats was to buy a trailer. I found a trailer manufacturer in Indiana that makes them specifically for transporting canoes and kayaks, but they weren't cheap. I couldn't justify the cost at the time, plus I didn't have anyplace to store the thing. But, it would really be nice to be able to keep the boats stored on the trailer so then when you want to go, you just hitch up and go. If I remember right, the company name was something like MO-Trailer. When I return from Australia, I can lookup the url for you if you like.
