If you want to do alot of paddling and less work. Just add a water hose around the cockpit opening temporarily fit it with a hot glue gun, tape or likewise. Glass it up to 3-4 mm thickness cut the edge with a grinder. Use a stiff typ of hose like a PVC glass reinforced or similar
