Despite my husband threatening to bring his waders to rescue me, I put in my GE 13 for the first time today. It has taken me 101 hours so far (not counting the countless trips to Menards- the U.P.'s version of Home Depot- and many hours of head scratching.) And it's still not done, I haven't installed the seat, footbraces, bulkhead, hatches or varnished yet. But with temps hovering in the low 40's and windchills in the 20's, I figured I better get in while the getting was good. And it was better than good- what an incredible experience to actually make something that can provide so much fun!
While I'm sure my questions are not done yet, I still want to say thanks to everyone who has helped me in this often confusing process. You are all wonderful! Nancy (a very happy paddler!)
