Dave,

I've done a lot of woodworking over the years but had never done much finishing. When I recently completed a redwood strip canoe and came to the finishing, I dived right in and found my biggest problem to be "holidays." The problem was that 45-year-old eyes need a lot more light to distinguish between varnished and unvarnished areas. My 588 sq. ft.. garage has eleven four-foot, two-bulb fluorescent lights and IT WASN'T ENOUGH! I don't know your age and vision status but get yourself good lighting before you start, and don't try the handy-dandy halogen drop-lights that are so good for so many other things--way too much glare. Good luck. Tom
