Well, I'm going to try this again. Go here to see some Spanish Cedar just after the fiberglass was put on. http://www.vitrex.net/~dejabru/kayak.htm The cedar was in wide very clear boards and was very easy to work. And the results are very nice. This boat is only 8'1" long, and is a river play boat. So it has a couple of reinforced areas that added weight to the finished boat. If you use it I think you will like it. The weight is comparable to or less than the sitka spruce that was used on the rest of the boat.
