The fundamental point I was making in the fittings posts and fittings 3 in particular was that there are ways of making minimal fittings which I think is advantageous aesthetically as well as functionally. Webbing same color as the rigging and use tight loops and if one line only - from 4 feet away it is extremely hard to even see it. The cheapest, lightest, minimal and least visible.
