You might want to run your question by the tech support guys at Gougeon, because when I asked similar questions about their 206 hardener, they told me that there were problems with clouding over time and that 207 should be used for clear coating. This clouding was supposedly due to unreacted hardener (insufficient mixing) or incorrect mixing ratios (too much hardener). I didn't chance it with 206 for coating my kayak and I bought the 207. I saved the 206 for filleting and adhesive use. However, before I had learned all this, I did make a strip test panel (later to become a bulkhead) using the 206. Later, when I had a 207 test panel to compare to, the 206 was definitely not as clear as the 207.
But again, I don't know if 205 suffers from the same problem. Check with Gougeon's friendly tech support.
