Hi Pete, I also love my GPS. So much that I do not intend to subject it to mounting on the deck. EB Marine/West marine has info on what waterproof is to manufacturers, in there catalog. My take is there not very waterproof. My plan is to use the waterproof bag they sell and stick it near to my heart (in a PFD vest pocket).
