Hello Berkeley,

I have just finished attaching the deck to a Chesapeake 17. At the suggestion of a CLC staff member, I used lengths of nylon rope (about 60) spaced four inches apart to secure it to the hull. The result was great-a beautifully cambered deck that tapers perfectly form bow to stern, and no nails! It was the hardest step in the whole boat building process but the only way to go for those concerned with aesthetics and weight.
