There's no rules. What I do is gradually remove most of the staples in the hull in my spare time as I work on the deck. I like to leave it fastened to the forms however, to hold everything tightly together. You just don't want it to pop off the forms before you establish your strip that joins the deck and hull. I usually finish the deck, sand it, glass the outside, remove it and then do the hull outside. I put plastic in the opening between the deck and hull when I glass the deck. When you first remove all the staples, it's still stuck to the forms from bits of glue adhearing to the tape on the forms. Usually the deck loosens off the forms because of the sanding.
